Delhi Heroes Cup: Code of Conduct

At T20ICL, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and respect within the Delhi Heroes Cup. As a premier cricket tournament, it’s crucial that every participant – from players to coaches and officials – abides by a clear Code of Conduct to ensure the event is competitive, ethical, and enjoyable for all.

The Delhi Heroes Cup Code of Conduct is designed to maintain the tournament’s integrity, promote sportsmanship, and set clear expectations for behavior. By registering for the Delhi Heroes Cup, all participants agree to comply with this code.

1. General Behavior and Sportsmanship

  • Respect for Others: All participants must show respect for their teammates, opponents, officials, coaches, and spectators. This includes demonstrating good manners, positive communication, and courtesy at all times.
  • Fair Play: Players, coaches, and officials are expected to always play fairly, follow the rules of the game, and refrain from any unsporting behavior.
  • Zero Tolerance for Abuse: Verbal or physical abuse, bullying, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification or further disciplinary action.

2. Integrity of the Game

  • No Match-Fixing or Spot-Fixing: Any attempt to manipulate or fix the outcome of a match, whether through dishonest play or other corrupt means, will result in immediate disqualification from the Delhi Heroes Cup and legal consequences.
  • Respect for Umpires: Umpires are the final authority on the field. All participants must respect their decisions, even if they disagree. Disrespect or dissent towards match officials is not acceptable.

3. Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Team Spirit: Players must work together as a cohesive unit, supporting each other both on and off the field. Mutual respect among teammates is essential for success in the tournament.
  • Communication: Clear, positive, and constructive communication should be maintained among teammates, coaching staff, and officials. Open discussions should focus on improvement, strategy, and collaboration.
  • Constructive Criticism: Criticism of teammates or opponents should be constructive and respectful. Negative or destructive behavior that disrupts team harmony or the tournament’s spirit will not be tolerated.

4. On-Field Behavior

  • Respect for the Game: All players must demonstrate respect for the game of cricket, including its traditions, rules, and fair-play principles. Any action that violates the spirit of the game – such as deliberately damaging equipment, or intimidating or distracting the opposition – is prohibited.
  • Conduct During Play: Players are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism during matches. Unnecessary sledging, aggressive gestures, or taunting will lead to immediate disciplinary action.
  • Personal Conduct: Players should ensure that their behavior on the field is a reflection of their values as sportspeople and representatives of their team, adhering to ethical practices at all times.

5. Off-Field Conduct

  • Respect for Facilities: Players, coaches, and officials should respect all venues and facilities, ensuring they are maintained in good condition. Any damage to property or misuse of facilities will result in penalties or disqualification.
  • Alcohol and Drugs: The consumption of alcohol or illegal substances is strictly prohibited during the tournament. Any participant found violating this rule will be expelled from the event.
  • Public Behavior: Participants should conduct themselves professionally, both in public spaces and on social media. Offensive language, inappropriate images, or negative comments about the tournament or other participants are not acceptable.

6. Accountability and Reporting

  • Reporting Malpractice: Participants are encouraged to report any form of corruption, cheating, or misconduct witnessed during the tournament. A confidential reporting system is in place for such concerns.
  • Whistleblowing: Players, coaches, and officials should not hesitate to report any malpractice, including match-fixing or illegal activities. T20ICL guarantees protection for whistleblowers and assures that reports will be handled with discretion.

7. Disciplinary Actions and Consequences

Failure to adhere to the Delhi Heroes Cup Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Warnings: First-time minor violations may result in a formal warning.
  • Suspension: Serious or repeated violations may lead to temporary suspension from the tournament.
  • Disqualification: Any participant found guilty of major violations (e.g., match-fixing, doping, abuse, or violence) will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
  • Bans: Persistent or severe misconduct may result in a lifetime ban from T20ICL events and other tournaments under the organization’s jurisdiction.

8. Transparency and Fairness

T20ICL ensures that the Delhi Heroes Cup Code of Conduct is enforced fairly and consistently. All disciplinary actions will be based on an unbiased investigation, and participants will be given a fair opportunity to present their case.

  • Investigation Process: If a violation is reported, the T20ICL Ethics Committee will conduct a thorough investigation. Both parties will be given the opportunity to provide their side of the story before a final decision is made.
  • Right to Appeal: Participants have the right to appeal any disciplinary decision. The appeal process is clearly outlined in the Delhi Heroes Cup Tournament Rules.

9. Commitment to Fair Play

The Delhi Heroes Cup is a platform where emerging talent can be recognized, and it is our mission to create a positive, fair, and competitive environment for every player. We are dedicated to upholding the principles of fair play, integrity, and respect, both on and off the field.

By adhering to the Delhi Heroes Cup Code of Conduct, participants contribute to making the tournament a truly prestigious event that celebrates the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship.
